The Championship will last from 10 June to 10 July 2016, while the drawing of the qualifying groups, which will include the record of 53 teams, will take place on 23 February.
Nine of the best and nine runner-ups in the qualifying groups and one best third place team will qualify directly to the competition, while eight third place teams will play additional qualifications to qualify for placement at the Championship.
The qualifying matches will be played under the new ‘Week of Football’ system, and matches will be played from Thursday to Tuesday. The system was introduced for better visibility of the competition.
The B&H team is in the first hat for drawing, which includes Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, England, Portugal, Greece and Russia.
The qualifications begin on 7 September, and the drawing of groups for the European Championship will be held in Paris on 12 December 2015.
