B&H is ranked as the 87th country (out of 148 countries in the world) at this year’s report. A small shift of one position has been made in comparison to last year. B&H was ranked in 88th position(out of 144 countries) in the report of 2012-2013, while one year earlier it was positioned as 100 out of 142 countries.
The Index of a country competitiveness can be classified based on 12 indicators, which are categorized according to the specific importance of the stages of competitiveness development. The factors of the first stage of development are: institutions, infrastructure, macro-economic conditions, health and primary education. Factors of the second stage of development are higher education and training, labor market efficiency, financial market development, technological readiness and market size. Factors of the third stage of development are business sophistication and innovations.
B&H is in the second phase of development.
