The joint training and cooperation plan between the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and EUFOR for 2024 was signed on October 20, 2023, in the premises of the Joint Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The plan was signed by the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Ivica Jerkić, and the Chief of Staff of EUFOR, Brigadier General Ovidiu Lungu.
Cooperation and support of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina by EUFOR has been going on for many years, and is part of their mission in building self-sustaining training capacities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina that are aligned with international standards. Through this training, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina continuously develop their abilities to work in an international environment, which is of exceptional importance for the defense system.
This event is a confirmation of the successful coordination and cooperation of the officers and liaison and coordination teams of EUFOR with the officers and teams of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina who have worked intensively in the past months to harmonize the signed plan. Experiences from previous years confirm that the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have a very flexible system and that with a joint effort they can adapt to various challenges, that in cases such as the COVID-19 virus pandemic, they can reschedule certain events or change and adapt their content to new circumstances.
After the signing of the training plan for the year 2024, expectations were expressed on both sides that the results of the training and cooperation for the year 2024 will produce the desired results.
