BiH Border Police prevent 96 People from illegally crossing the Border

Members of the Border Police Unit of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gradiška, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska, prevented an attempt to illegally cross the state border by a total of 96 people on Wednesday on two occasions, the Border Police of BiH announced.

In the afternoon, an attempt to illegally cross the border by 63 people was prevented in the town of Bistrica, among whom were 40 citizens of Pakistan and 23 citizens of Bangladesh.

Upon the order of the prosecutor on duty of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an on-site inspection was conducted, two boats were seized, and two people suspected of being involved in smuggling were identified.

On the same day, in the evening, also in Bistrica, an attempt to illegally cross the state border by another 33 people was prevented – 18 citizens of Afghanistan, 13 citizens of Bangladesh and two people from Pakistan.

The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Field Center Banja Luka, has been notified of the events, and work on the case is ongoing, the statement said.
