The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met today with the Ambassador of Australia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, based in Vienna, Ian David Grainge Biggs. Minister Konaković and Ambassador Biggs agreed that relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Australia are good and friendly with no open questions.
The minister thanked Australia for its intensive support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to the EU, stressing that BiH’s focus remains on implementing key priorities and fulfilling the prescribed conditions for full membership in the European Union. The interlocutors further discussed the achieved level of cooperation with NATO and other current political and social events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
Ambassador Ian David Grainge Biggs reiterated that Australia stands by Bosnia and Herzegovina, its sovereignty and territorial integrity with the desire that the following activities bring benefit to all its citizens and preserve the multi-ethical character of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was concluded that the numerous Bosnian community in Australia contributes to the good political bilateral relations between the two countries and that this could very well be a strong basis for the development of economic cooperation, which is not at a high level – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
