Minister of Defense and Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zukan Helez, stated that he hopes that, through procedures prescribed by law, the Decision of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, by which the company BNT – Factory of Machines and Hydraulics from Novi Travnik was stripped of its license for drone production, will be reconsidered, and that the production process will resume as soon as possible.
“However, the fact that following this decision, inaccurate and maliciously tendentious information has appeared in parts of the media in BiH is particularly concerning, information that consciously and groundlessly links me to drone production at the BNT company and its suspension. Such claims are completely untrue and represent an attempt to manipulate the public. I have no connection whatsoever with drone production at the mentioned company. Despite this, certain media outlets are publishing my photographs with drones that were produced elsewhere and by another company, thereby deliberately misleading the public. I consider such conduct malicious and tendentious, and the information being disseminated is inaccurate and unprofessional,” Helez emphasized in a Facebook post.
He stresses that the drones he spoke about earlier are still being produced and exported regularly, without any delays.
“I expect the media to start doing their job responsibly, in accordance with professional and ethical standards, and to stop spreading disinformation that causes harm both to individuals and to the domestic industry,” Helez said.
