Lieutenant General Senad Masovic, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), Brigadier Edin Fako, head of the military part of the BiH Mission to NATO, and Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the AFBiH, Colonel Nedim Biscevic, yesterday attended a meeting at the level of the Chiefs of General Staff/Staffs of the European Union (EU) at the headquarters of the EU Military Committee in Brussels.
At the meeting, EU-led missions were discussed, including the EU-led mission in the Central African Republic, in which the AFBiH also participate. In addition, the global security situation was also discussed, and it was concluded that further strengthening of defense capacities is necessary.
Lieutenant General Masovic expressed the commitment of the AFBiH to Euro-Atlantic integration, and the hope for continued positive cooperation between the EU and the AFBiH, both through education and joint training, as well as through the participation of members of the AFBiH in EU-led missions around the world, as well as the further development of defense capacities.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Lieutenant General Masovic met with the Chiefs of General Staff of several countries, with whom he discussed the security challenges facing the world as well as BiH. They also discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the armed forces of allied countries and the AFBiH through various forms of cooperation. The Chiefs of General Staff expressed their readiness to provide assistance to the AFBiH, with the aim of strengthening the capabilities of the AFBiH, as well as support for the defense system on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
The meeting of the EU Military Committee was chaired by General Robert Brieger, chairman of the EU Military Committee.
