During his stay in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Elmedin Konakovic, participated in a working breakfast organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani, for the ministers of foreign affairs of the countries of the Western Balkans, Croatia, and Slovenia.
At the meeting, mutual gratitude was expressed to Minister Tajani for Italy’s continuous support for the cooperation of the countries of the Western Balkans on the path to joining the European Union (EU). In addition to Italy, Slovenia and Croatia also emphasized their support for the European path to the countries of the Western Balkans. The need for synergy and joint action under the initiative of Minister Tajani called the group “Friends of the Western Balkans” within the United Nations (UN) was highlighted.
Konakovic welcomed the initiative and stated that the path of BiH is undoubtedly the European family, but that there must be cooperation on that path, for which we see that there is interest from all those present at the working breakfast.
The head of BiH diplomacy used the opportunity to highlight the implementation of the SDG agenda as a platform for cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans and the EU, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
