BiH FM met in Doha with the PM and Minister of FA of the State of Qatar

On 6 December 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met in Doha, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025, in separate meetings with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Al Thani, the overall political relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Qatar were discussed, which were assessed as very good and friendly. The importance of continuous political dialogue and cooperation at a high level was emphasized, which contributes to strengthening mutual trust and opening new opportunities for partnership.

Minister Konaković thanked Prime Minister Al Thani for the consistent support that Qatar provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially through humanitarian, development and economic initiatives, and for Qatar’s constructive role in regional and global issues. The two countries also discussed international cooperation, including coordination and mutual support within the United Nations and other international organizations.

Special attention was paid to improving economic cooperation and attracting Qatari investments. Possibilities for cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, education and the military industry were discussed, with both sides assessing that there is significant untapped potential. Minister Konaković presented investment opportunities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the interest of domestic institutions and business entities in intensifying cooperation with Qatar.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional and global topics, including current developments in the Middle East and the importance of diplomatic efforts aimed at stability and peace. Minister Konaković thanked Qatar for its role in humanitarian initiatives and mediation processes.

In a meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Minister Konaković also thanked for the continued support that Qatar provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He informed his interlocutor about the current processes and challenges within the framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration. They also discussed further strengthening of political dialogue and the possibilities of developing new projects of mutual interest.
