The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, who is on an official visit to the Republic of France, held a meeting in Paris with the Executive Directors responsible for Europe of AFD, Proparco Expertise France on the occasion of the signing of an agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of France.
During the meeting, the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of France on the establishment and activities of the French Development Agency, the Proparco institution and Expertise France in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed. This agreement opens up space for a stronger French presence in development and investment projects, as well as for attracting new investments, which will contribute to strengthening economic and trade ties between BiH and France, especially in the areas of energy, tourism, innovation, industrial production and sustainable development.
The interlocutors exchanged views on sustainable development projects, energy transition, attracting investments and strengthening institutional capacities, with particular emphasis on the importance of French support for development projects in the Western Balkans.
Continuing his visit to France, Minister Konaković, together with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, visited the Monument to the Victims of the Genocide in Srebrenica, located at the “Pere Lachaise” cemetery, next to the monuments to the victims of the genocide in Rwanda and the French soldiers killed in World War II.
