BiH FM sent a Letter to Serbian MoI: Serbia cannot make Moral Lectures to BiH

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, sent an open letter to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, in which he pointed out that Serbia cannot hold moral pretenses to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially because, as he stated, it is a country that hides dozens of people accused of the most serious war crimes.

“Regarding your media statements about the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on police cooperation, about how it is normal for police structures to cooperate throughout the region, you cannot speak to Minister Dacic until your police structures together with the judiciary in Serbia are hiding dozens of war criminals that our country is looking for, and for whom Interpol warrants have been issued. As long as you guard the murderer of the youth in Tuzla, war criminal Novak Đukić, you cannot preach to anyone. As long as your children are being treated by the doctor of death, who is ours it is hypocritical to talk about normal cooperation by the judiciary for the worst crimes in Čajniče. Extradite Eći, Savčić and dozens of other criminals who spread death across Bosnia and Herzegovina, and only after that we can talk about ‘normal cooperation’,” said Konaković.

Two female students, as he added, “who glorified war criminals in our country and wrote ‘we didn’t kill you enough’, were rewarded by your security system led by Vulin with scholarships and today they are proudly walking around Belgrade. For you it is a ‘normal relationship’, for me it is abnormal, I don’t agree to it and I don’t believe in your good intentions.”

In the letter, Konaković added that he believes even less in the good intentions of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, “who, with a dirty campaign full of lies, tried to stop the adoption of the resolution on the genocide committed in Srebrenica, in which, thank God, he failed.”

“We are neighbors, referred to each other, who must cooperate in many fields for the interests of our citizens, but I will not pretend that I enjoy it and that I look forward to it even out of diplomatic courtesy, as long as you behave as I have previously stated. I believe that the agreement is harmful for our country as long as members of your police can freely do whatever they want in our country in cooperation with the entity and cantonal agencies, the same police that protect and guard war criminals, and prohibit the entry into Serbia of our actors and singers,” Konaković pointed out in the letter.

He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a democratic country and that we will “use all available procedures and tools to fix a harmful and bad agreement for us”.

“Why Komšić and Izetbegović enabled you to create joint teams with entity cantonal police without the consent of state authorities is not clear to me. Their superficiality, laicism or some interest, they know that, and maybe you too, because you are a participant in the process. Why did they enable you to you are sending undercover investigators to Bosnia and Herzegovina who have jurisdiction over the territory of the entire country, it is not clear to me,” said Konaković.

In the letter, he added that he has so far proven and shown in countless examples that he is a man of cooperation and that he does not hate anyone.

“I came to your country with outstretched hands with the desire to improve relations for the benefit of our citizens and the entire region of the Western Balkans. I have met with you several times on different forums and had fair and open conversations. Deliver us Đukić, Kornjača, Eći, Savčić and other criminals or put them in prison where they belong, respect the victims of genocide and international law, educate the new generation in Serbia not to glorify war criminals. This is a concrete step towards the normalization of relations Bosnia and Herzegovina should be bypassed in this,” stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković in a letter addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić, the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
