BiH Foreign Minister meets with the President of the Conference of European Rabbis

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, held a series of important meetings in Munich during the Munich Security Conference aimed at strengthening international dialogue and promoting peace, stability and prosperity as fundamental foreign policy priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On that occasion, the minister met with the special envoy of the United States of America for monitoring and combating anti-Semitism, Yehuda Kaploun, and with the president of the Conference of European Rabbis, Pinchas Goldschmidt.

During the meeting with the special envoy of the United States of America for monitoring and combating anti-Semitism, Yehuda Kaploun, appointed by the President of the United States of America Donald Trump, the importance of the fight against all forms of intolerance was highlighted, emphasizing that the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina showed that the laying down of arms and the strength of diplomacy are the only sustainable path to long-term peace, with the determined presence and guarantees of the international community, led by the United States of America.
The interlocutors agreed that peace has no alternative and that stability must remain the common goal of the international community.

On this occasion, Minister Konaković invited special envoy Kaploun to the exhibition of the Sarajevo Haggadah, which will be held at the end of next month in Washington, emphasizing its historical and symbolic significance as one of the most important testimonies of multiculturalism, coexistence and interreligious respect in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the same time, the minister accepted Mr. Kaploun’s invitation to visit the United States of America.

In a separate meeting with Chief Rabbi and President of the Conference of European Rabbis Pinchas Goldschmidt, the cancellation of the Rabbinical Conference in Sarajevo was discussed, as well as the prospects for continuing the dialogue in the future.
Support for peace and stability as the only right path was emphasized on both sides, with a common message that open and continuous dialogue is key to overcoming challenges and strengthening mutual trust.

Minister Konaković emphasized Bosnia and Herzegovina’s permanent commitment to the affirmation of peace, stability and prosperity, as well as strengthening partnerships and dialogue with international and religious leaders around the world. He pointed out the equal importance of the fight against anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and all other forms of misunderstanding of religion.
