Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic met in Washington with former US Secretary of State, President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and Chair of Albright Stonebridge Group Madeleine Albright.

The interlocutors discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, as well as the role of the international community.

Albright follows the events very closely and participated in the hearing in the US Congress, in connection with the formation of the policy of the administration of President Joe Biden towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans.

The interlocutors exchanged views in a long conversation, and expressed the expectation that the strengthened US engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region will be an incentive to accelerate reform processes, especially in the direction of strengthening the state, rule of law and the fight against corruption.

Albright accepted Minister Turkovic’s invitation to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, and supported activities on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Euro-Atlantic path.
