Among more than 1250 exhibitors from 50 countries who will present their furniture at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne, nine are from BiH.
Besides the producers, young designers also visited the fair in order to see new ideas.
Wood Industry of BiH exported 807 million BAM of goods, furniture 37% and other products 63%.
Germany is the first partner in the furniture export from BiH.
According to previous experiences and results from previous performances of BiH exhibitors, “IMM cologne” is the leading event for exhibiting BiH furniture in Germany and the EU.
Traditionally, with this fair, a new season of design, interior decoration and a complete range of products of wood industry – from innovation to mass production starts.
The quality of young BiH designers has been recognised by German Government which, in cooperation with the German Design Council and Cologne Fair invited the members of the Academy of Fine Arts (AFA) from Sarajevo to participate among 10 other faculties from the entire World.
Professor of the AFA Sarajevo Salih Teskeredžić said ‘‘Design as a way to gain advantage in the global market competition is being increasingly recognised.”
Under the slogan ”Tradition for Future”, BiH exhibit this time offered a wide range of products from ranges from traditional furniture, upholstered furniture and broad purposes board furniture, to furniture made of metal.
