Minister Osmić spoke of the commitment of the Ministry to continue with necessary reforms in order to retain the existing level of equipment, training and compatibility of the Armed Forces with NATO standards, and that additional efforts would be made to meet all the remaining condition for MAP activation, which is the registration of military property in BIH.
Ambassador Moon spoke positively on the reforms that were implemented in the defense sector, and said that the Ministry of Defense of BIH was and remains a leader of positive processes in BIH, and this is shown through the unity in management of this institution in reaching decisions, as well as through the participation of the Armed Forces of BIH in peace support operations (earlier in Iraq and now in Afghanistan), announced in a statement.
He repeated that the US would continue to strongly support BIH’s path to NATO and the EU, and that the support of the US would remain constant and consistent in the future.
He added that the he is leaving the position of Ambassador optimistically when it comes to the future of this country, “because BIH citizens deserve it and are working to improve the situation in BIH”.
Deputy Ministers of Defense Marina Pendeš and Mirko Okolić, who participated in the meeting, thanked Ambassador Moon for his help and assistance to BIH, and wished him much luck and success in the future period.
