Lagumdžija wished a warm welcome to the State Minister to BIH and thanked him for the hospitality during a visit of the BiH delegation to the UAE in March of this year.
Lagumdžija said that he expects that the trend of intensive economic and political contacts between BiH and the UAE will continue, as will be shown by the participation of a high delegation of the UAE to the Sarajevo Business Forum 2013, which will be held today in Sarajevo.
They expressed the expectation that an agreement will be signed soon on the protection of investments between the two countries as a prerequisite for a stronger presence of investors from the UAE and BiH.
Minister Al Tayer thinks that our country is an attractive country for investors and tourists, as well as an entry point to the European market.
During the meeting Lagumdžija said, among other things, that BIH has an interest for a greater participation of funds and companies from the UAE in investment projects in BiH, and said it would be good for the UAE government to publically call investors from their country to increase investments in BIH.
In this regard, he recalled that there is good perspective for investment in the telecommunications and transport system, infrastructure, energy and military sector, and especially in the construction of Corridor 5C, as well as investment in the recapitalization of state strategic enterprises.
Lagumdžija stressed the commitment of BiH to continue to meet the conditions for the continuation of progress towards EU and NATO membership, which is a sign for potential UAE investors that their investments in BiH are secure, announced the BIH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
