BiH opens the new Nations League Season in Warsaw Tonight

The football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play the first match of the new League of Nations season against Poland tonight in Warsaw.

Bosnia and Herzegovina coach Sergej Barbarez will have to make certain changes in the lineup for this match. Namely, goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj, right back Amar Dedić and Kenan Busuladžić, who had to undergo surgery due to a serious injury, were out due to injuries, while Edin Džeko will later join the team when he will say goodbye to the national team.

Before the match, the BiH coach emphasized that his team enters the new cycle with high ambitions.

“No calculations. We will go to every game to win, as we have done so far. Of course, our desire is to take one of the first two places, which could bring us certain mitigating circumstances, but we will see what happens. Two away games at the opening of the League of Nations is something very strong, but we have shown in my term that we rule the game away from home,” said Barbarez.

Polish coach Jan Urban announced the possibility of changes in the starting line-up of Poland.

“I think you will all be surprised by one or two players. There will be a lot to talk about,” said Urban.

This will be the fifth meeting between Poland and BiH. In the previous four, the Poles were more successful with three wins, while one match ended in a draw.

The match at the PGE Narodowy stadium starts at 8:45 p.m., and the referee will be Greek Anastasios Papapetrou.

After tonight’s away game in Warsaw, Dragons expect a duel against Romania in Bucharest on Monday.
