The BiH Paralympic team consists of 24 members, 14 of whom are athletes.
At the official opening ceremony, the flag of BiH will be carried by Dženita Klico.
The most decorated BiH national team – the sitting volleyball national team, will be fighting for the fifth Paralympic medal in Rio. In four consecutive performances in the finals, the BiH sitting volleyball players won gold in Athens in 2004 and in London in 2012, and silver medals in Sydney in 200 and Beijing in 2008.
At the volleyball tournament which begins on September 9, BiH volleyball team will be playing in the B Group with teams of Iran, Russia and China.
The BiH team will start the competition with a match against Ukraine on September 10 at 2:30 am Central European Time. Two days later, at the same time they will play against the team of Iran, and on September 14 they will weigh forces with China at 11:30 pm. Semifinals are scheduled for September 16 and finals for September 18.
The BiH shot putter Dženita Klico will perform on September 10 in the period from 3 pm until 6 pm, while Dževak Pandžić will perform in the same discipline and in the same time frame on September 16.
During the Paralympic Games, the Paralympic Village will accommodate more than 4.350 athletes from 176 countries, together with around 3.000 coaches and other staff.
