Members of the Central Investigation Office of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Unit for Support and Control of the Field Office East Visegrad of the Border Police of BiH, in cooperation with officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, seized a large of cigarettes without excise stamps in East Ilidza municipality and arrested one person. 18 cartons, ie 8,980 boxes of cigarettes were confiscated, which were discovered during the control and inspection of the passenger motor vehicle Passat, of BiH plates.
The market value of the seized cigarettes is estimated at more than AM. Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of “illicit trade in excise products” was committed, in connection with the criminal offense of “smuggling”, one person, a citizen of BiH, was deprived of liberty. Cigarettes and other items related to the commission of the crime were temporarily seized. Further work on this case is in progress, and upon completion of all activities, the Report on the committed criminal offense will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
