Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović met today in Sarajevo with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavsky, stating that this visit will make a significant contribution to the development of overall relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic.
Lipavsky expressed his gratitude for the meeting and offered his condolences on the tragic loss of human life caused by the devastating floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He informed Bećirović about the financial assistance of the Czech Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of 40,000 euros for the repair of material damage caused by natural disasters.
Bećirović’s cabinet announced that he thanked Minister Lipavski for the help and continued support of the Czech Republic and for the traditionally friendly relationship and cooperation. He assessed that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic have a high degree of agreement on key issues.
“The interlocutors expressed their satisfaction with the positive trend in the development of bilateral cooperation, especially on the economic level, where there is an increase in trade in goods compared to the previous period. Mutual interest and the intention to continue and further strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest were emphasized. Also, the intensification of visits at the highest level was welcomed,” the announcement states.
Bećirović thanked for the development cooperation projects that the Czech Republic is implementing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the help to students from BiH studying in the Czech Republic, and expressed satisfaction with the successful cultural cooperation between the capitals of the two friendly countries.
He met Lipavski about the significant progress on the path to membership in the European Union, which BiH has achieved in the previous two years. On this occasion, he emphasized BiH’s unquestionable commitment to the realization of the main foreign policy goals. In this context, he expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for its consistent support to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
