Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić said that in the previous four or five years, maybe even more, there has been a change in the approach of the international community, that is, the United States of America as the main power in that circle towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
A pragmatic and even Machiavellian approach prevailed, which essentially means turning support towards Albanian, Serbian and Croatian nationalism, and consequently, aspirations towards the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Komšić as a guest on FTV.
When asked if there are world powers that once would not, but today would still accept the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a member of the BiH Presidency decisively answers that there are. Arguing further, he repeats that, despite this, we “tend to bury our heads in the sand” and act as if nothing is wrong.
When asked whose politics the incumbent High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, is pursuing, Komšić answered that he is representing the American ones, with the support of other partners.
In the part of the conversation about the formation of the post-election government in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, the difficulties and political disagreements related to this issue, Komšić said that the only way out of the crisis would be an agreement between the Croat Democratic Union, the Social Democratic Party and the Party of Democratic Action because according to the Constitution, three people who play a very important role in the formation of a government are the president and two vice-presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they are members of the aforementioned parties. Unfortunately, the parliamentary majority is not enough, notes Komšić.
Komšić’s opinion is that Bosnia and Herzegovina still needs the institution of the Office of the High Representative as long as there is the Dayton Agreement, that is, the Dayton constitutional arrangement, until the eventual essential change of the entire system and political paradigm in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fena reports.
