Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, sent condolences to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, on the occasion of the tragic explosion that occurred at the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana.

“With great sadness, I received the news of the tragedy and the loss of human lives in the explosion that occurred at the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana. On my own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of BiH, I express my deepest sympathy to you, to the families of the victims, and to the citizens of the Swiss Confederation. Our thoughts and hearts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. Please accept the expressions of my sincere sympathy and solidarity,” Becirovic said.

Around 40 people were killed, and 100 were seriously injured after an explosion engulfed a packed bar during New Year’s celebrations at the luxury ski resort of Crans-Montana, Swiss officials announced on Thursday.

The fire broke out at 1:30 a.m. in the Le Constellation bar at the resort in southwestern Switzerland. The cause of the explosion remains unknown, but authorities stated that it appears to have been an accident.
