BiH records Decrease in Number of Registered Vehicles

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, 8,993 motor vehicles were registered for the first time in March this year, which represents a decrease of 0.3 percent compared to March of the previous year when 9,023 motor vehicles were registered for the first time.

Of the total number of vehicles registered for the first time, the most common are passenger cars (75.2 percent), trucks (6.8 percent), motorcycles (4.4 percent), trailers (3.7 percent), special vehicles and mopeds (1.3 percent), semi-trailers (1.2 percent), and road tractors (one percent), according to data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A total of 1,330 new motor vehicles were registered, which represents a decrease of 8.9 percent in the number of new motor vehicles registered for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina compared to the same month of the previous year. Of the total number of vehicles registered for the first time in March this year, 14.8 percent were new vehicles.

During March this year, out of the total number of new vehicles registered for the first time, 57.1 percent of vehicles were registered by individuals. In the category of new passenger cars, the largest percentage share is held by cars that use gasoline as a fuel (51.1 percent).
