BiH Security Minister says He will reveal important Information about Schmidt

BiH Minister of Security Nenad Nešić has announced an extraordinary press conference for today, where, as announced, he will present information from security agencies about the stay of High Representative Christian Schmidt in BiH.

In September, Nešić requested a report from SIPA, the Border Police and the Service for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis on which Christian Schmidt’s entourage carries weapons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering that they are foreign citizens, and how they move, i.e. whether they have an escort domestic agencies.

The course of this “action” by officials from the RS went in such a way that first the cabinet of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović requested information about the number of members of Christian Schmidt’s security and the weapons they carry.

The request was then received by the Minister of Security Nenad Nešić and forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state police and security agencies.

“After the reports of all relevant institutions, I expect that the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will also be included in the story, in order to fully clarify whether Christian Schmidt has the legitimacy and legality to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina and whether his entourage has a legal basis for possessing weapons on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.

SIPA and the BiH Prosecutor’s Office never responded to the inquiry of the Klix.ba portal whether SIPA investigators are conducting certain investigative actions on Christian Schmidt and members of his security on the order of the State Prosecutor’s Office.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH previously responded to the inquiry of Cvijanović and Nešić, where they confirmed that High Representative Christian Schmidt has diplomatic status, in accordance with the provisions of Annex 10 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed on December 14, 1995.
