BiH Security Minister: We are ready to act repressively if there are Threats of Terrorism

Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Nenad Nesic said yesterday that “they are ready to act repressively if there are threats of terrorism”. He commented on the allegations of the Italian media, and on the new security measures.

He said that there is no reason for the citizens of BiH to be worried about the increased security measures because they are normal measures if we look at the situation in the world.

“If we see that Slovenia, Austria, and Italy are raising security measures, I see no reason why we should not do the same. We have instructed all agencies to take appropriate measures in order not to endanger the safety of citizens and property within BiH. This is a normal reaction, all for the sake of peace and stability in BiH,” said Nesic.

After the Italian media announced that the local intelligence service has information that 20 terrorist cells are active in our area, including BiH, Nesic said that he did not read that article and that they do not draw conclusions based on journalistic writings, but based on information from various agencies.

“We know what we have inside BiH and on who we have to keep an eye on. Tomorrow I will send a request to the security agencies to send information about a possible terrorist attack in BiH or that BiH citizens could do it in Europe or the world. I don’t believe in the possibility of that, we are ready to act repressively, by force, and to prevent it,” Nesic concluded yesterday, N1 reports.
