BiH Students Engage in Europe’s Robotics Week to Strengthen STEM Skills

Europe House, in partnership with the European Robotics Week National Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina and schools across the country, organised a series of interactive workshops to highlight the importance of this flagship EU initiative in bringing robotics, coding, and future-focused technologies closer to younger generations.

Educational workshops held in schools in Gradačac, Kiseljak, Mostar and Travnik aimed to equip students with essential STEM skills. Designed to spark curiosity and encourage creativity, the activities introduced pupils to the world of robotics and technology, helping them envision themselves as future scientists, engineers, and developers.

During the workshops, students built simple robots using recycled materials, learned basic commands, completed guided tasks using introductory programming tools, and developed short scripts and inputs. All activities promoted creativity, teamwork, safe and responsible technology use, and constructive reflection—key competencies for future STEM learning.

Since its launch in 2011, European Robotics Week has mobilized schools, universities, makers, startups, and the wider public across Europe through a diverse programme of demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities. The initiative showcases how robotics enhances many sectors of society—from healthcare and industry to culture and daily life—and continues to inspire the next generation of European innovators to engage with emerging technologies, EU Delegation in BiH writes.
