Tonight in Stockholm, the women’s national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play the return match of the playoff for the UEFA A League of Nations against Sweden.
In the first match in Zenica, the Swedish team won with 0:5 and practically already ensured their participation in the A League of Nations. Despite that, the selector of BiH team Samira Hurem expects her players to give their maximum and show their desire and commitment.
“For us, the double match with Sweden came as a reward for excellent performances in the League of Nations this fall. This is a young team that can only improve through meetings with teams from the top of world football. In Zenica, we were fighting, we put in a lot of effort, and that’s why we certainly sorry that the result was too high. However, we are on our way, we are trying to improve constantly and we can only benefit from these matches. In this regard, I expect us to show desire and commitment tomorrow as well. These players will certainly give their the maximum on the field,” said Hurem.
National team member Marija Aleksić thinks similarly.
“Our team is one of the youngest in this region, so playing with the third-ranked team in the world in Sweden is certainly one of the most important matches of our careers. We can learn a lot from them, and the very approach to women’s football in Sweden shows the fact that all tickets for the match are sold out. We had many good situations in the previous match and we plan to repeat them, and to fix what was bad. We will do our best to play the match as well as possible, that’s what I can promise for sure,” she points out.
The match is scheduled for 18:30 at the Stockholm Arena.
