BiH’s Foreign Trade Deficit Reaches 1.88 Billion BAM in First Two Months of the Year

Exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first two months of this year amounted to 2.659 billion BAM, which is 6.1 percent more than in the same period last year, while imports amounted to 4.538 billion BAM, which is 6.4 percent more.

The coverage of imports by exports in the first two months amounted to 58.6 percent, while the foreign trade deficit amounted to 1.88 billion BAM, according to data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Exports to CEFTA countries in the period January-February of this year amounted to 448 million BAM, which is 17.3 percent more than in the same period last year, while imports amounted to 548 million BAM, which is 17.4 percent more. The coverage of imports by exports with CEFTA countries amounted to 81.7 percent.

Exports to European Union countries amounted to 1.958 billion BAM, which is 3.4 percent more than in the same period last year, while imports amounted to 2.628 billion BAM, which is three percent more. The coverage of imports by exports with EU countries was 74.5 percent.
