Deputy President of the HDZ BiH Borjana Krišto is a candidate for the chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, president of the HDZ BiH, confirmed to journalists in Mostar today after the session of the Presidency of this party.
According to the established practice of rotation, in the new mandate, the leading position in the Council of Ministers should be held by a candidate from the Croat people.
In the last elections, Borjana Krišto was a candidate of the parties gathered around the Croat People’s Assembly (HNS) in Bosnia and Herzegovina for a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the past mandate, she was a member of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition, Čović revealed that Lidija Bradara will be the president of FBiH.
“I have said more than once that we will have a balance between female and male officials. Regarding names and portfolios in the Council of Ministers, we will hold discussions next week. We will try to make a fair agreement between the three government representatives and it is important that it works together,” Čović added.
When it comes to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he pointed out that the only thing certain is that the Minister of Finance and the Deputy Prime Minister will be from the HDZ BiH.
“We will try to make our influence in that government more pronounced. The Prime Minister will be a Bosniak, so the House of Peoples will be chaired by a Croat,” noted Čović.
