The company Pretis d.d. Vogošća prepares to open the subsidiary in Tuzla, which represents a new and interesting step at a time when this company is preparing one of the most important projects of the domestic defense industry in the Tuzla area – construction of the gunpowder factory.
Pretis called the Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting on September 30, 2026, and the proposed agenda items also included the decision-making on establishing the Subsidiary “Pretis” d.d. Vogošća in Tuzla, BiznisInfo.ba wrote.
The establishment of a branch in Tuzla is interesting, considering that Pretis is already preparing the realization of that major project in the city’s area.
Factory Building in Bukinje
BiznisInfo.ba has previously reported that the Bukinje location in the Tuzla City area – the site of the former Kreka mine – was chosen for the gunpowder factory. The project focuses on removing the former mine’s facilities, which will give this area a new purpose.
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has allocated five million BAM for the activities related to factory building. The program covers the preparation of project documentation, land clearing and site preparation, removal of existing facilities, construction of access roads and internal infrastructure, as well as the installation of fencing, lighting, and a video surveillance system.
The following is also planned: geodetic and hydrogeological studies, site preparation for the construction of production facilities, as well as procurement of laboratory equipment and development of technical solutions necessary for gunpowder production.
Therefore, the establishment of Pretis subsidiary in Tuzla precisely coincides with preparations for construction of the new factory, although the company has not yet officially confirmed it is a move which is directly related to this project.
Resolving One of the Major Issues
The construction of an in-house factory has a strategic significance for the entire defense industry in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The domestic companies manufacturing ammunition currently depend on procuring gunpowder from abroad, so eventual issues with deliveries could directly impact their manufacturing process.
This especially stood out during previous supply issues, which demonstrated how vulnerable this segment of the supply chain is to foreign suppliers.
Pretis Earns more than 13 Million BAM this year.
The new project arrives at a time of strong business performance for Pretis. In the first six months of this year, the company generated total revenues of 52.34 million BAM and net profit of 13.18 million BAM. The profit for just half a year has also exceeded the result from the entire year of 2025, when Pretis generated 10.72 million BAM.
On the other hand, the revenues are significantly below last year’s level. During the entire year of 2025, Pretis had revenues of around 151 million BAM. This year’s ultimate result will largely depend on carrying out business activities in the second half of the year.
It is also interesting that there was a major change in the sales structure this year. In the first half of the year, Pretis generated revenues of 21.4 million BAM on the domestic market, while 30.9 million BAM was generated in foreign markets.
The majority owner of Pretis is the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with 51 percent of the shares, while the company Sikto, backed by the American Regulus Global, holds around 41 percent.
