Bosnia and Herzegovina is the World vice-champion in Sitting Volleyball!

The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in sitting volleyball became the vice champion of the world!

Our volleyball players were defeated by Iran in Hangzhou, China, in the finals of the World Championship after a great fight, with a score of 3:1 in sets.

The Iranians won the first two sets with a score of 25:21 and 25:20, and then our boys reduced the score to 2:1 with a score of 25:20.

Our boys did their best, but in the end they couldn’t win.

The Iranians, led by the great Mortez Mehrzad, justified their role as favorites, won the fourth set with a score of 25:16 and reached the ninth gold medal from the world championships.

For the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this was the fourth silver at the world championships and the eighth medal from nine competitions. In addition to four silvers, our selection also has three golds and one bronze at the world championships.

Overall, this is the 30th medal for our volleyball players from major competitions.

In addition to the eight listed medals from the world championships, our national team members also won 15 medals from the European championships (12 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze) and seven Olympic medals (2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze).

Let’s remind you, by placing in the finals of the World Championship, our national team also qualified for the Paralympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles in 2028.
