“BiH is very beautiful. I always wanted to visit Medjugorje and Sarajevo. Of course, I couldn’t leave out from the list Mostar with its beautiful bridge over Neretva River. I visited there the Koski Mehmed Pasa Mosque, and though I was tired, I climbed the 89 steps to the top, and it was wort it,” Tatomir told Sarajevo Times.
“What a fantastic view! And what a beautiful holy place of peace! I visited also the Mostar Peace Bell Tower and the Cathedral of Mary Mother of the Church, the Bosnaseum and the Hamam Museum. Impressive!”
Mr.Tatomir also spoke about people in BiH, how they are very friendly and kind, very helpful and open.
In the short interview with Sarajevo Times, Mr.Tatomir spoke about how much he knew about BiH before arriving here, and did he have any preconceived ideas that changed after he spent some time here.
“Honestly, I didn’t know a lot. I didn’t have preconceived ideas, but like any tourist visiting first a foreign country, I was a bit concerned on how I will get around. Is very easy. Lovely people, good means of transport, clean, reliable trains. I was very happy with what I found. Many exchange offices, in many places euros accepted, didn’t had to worry about wifi while I enjoyed my delicious bosanska kafa…,” Mr.Tatomir explained.
Mr. Tatomir visited capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as well, saying that there is so much history in Sarajevo, and so many places and buildings to visit, such as the old Orthodox Church, the Old Synagogue and the Ashkenazi Synagogue, the Market Hall with the amazing and tasty local products, the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos, the Ali-Pasha’s Mosque, the mausoleum of the first president of BiH, Alija Izetbegovic, the National Museum of BiH.
“I left in tears the Museum of crimes against humanity and genocide. I also took the Sarajevo Cable Car to Trebevic, the view over the city was spectacular!
Spirituality, history, arts, the beauty of the surroundings, sadness as well from the wounds of the past, today’s Sarajevo reflects hope and prosperity. May Peace Prevail in Sarajevo. May Peace Prevail in BiH,” Mr. Tatomir concluded.
