In the 2nd round of the European Championship qualifiers, the Bosnia and Herzegovina handball team defeated the Greek team 23-22 in Cazin after a dramatic finale, recording their first victory after nine consecutive defeats.
After Greece’s initial lead, BiH was a much better opponent. The advantage grew steadily to a maximum of four goals (7:3). By the time the break came around, BiH had a four-goal lead on several occasions, but the Greeks came back at the end of the first half, and the break ended with a score of 13:11 for BiH.
The start of the second half belonged to the Greek team, which fully returned to the game and even took the lead. However, our team found its strength and eventually won after a great drama in the final.
The qualifiers continue in March when our team will play a doubleheader against Georgia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina now has two points in the qualifiers, as does Greece, while Iceland has four points. The Georgian team has no points.
