Brigadier Edin Fako awarded Prestigious NATO Award

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Brigadier Edin Fako, currently serving as the head of the military part of the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO, was awarded a prestigious award by the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo.

This significant award was given to him in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development and improvement of relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the NATO alliance. Brigadier Fako distinguished himself with his dedication, expertise and personal initiative, exceeding expectations in the performance of his duties.

His exceptional contribution is reflected in a significant number of activities, and among the most important are certainly the organization of visits by NATO high-ranking officials to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted in stronger partnership and understanding, and contributed to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the NATO program, called Defense Capacity Building.

On the basis of which the defense system of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the security system were provided with significant support through 12 projects.

Contribution to the accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO forces, for a quick reaction which is recognition of the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Then the contribution to the realization of assistance from the European Union through the “European peaceful facility fund”, of several million euros for the construction of operational capabilities, and the contribution to the establishment of ASDE with NATO, which will enable the transmission of images for control of the sky over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The NATO award awarded to Brigadier Edin Fak is a symbol of recognition for the dedication and exceptional military skills he demonstrated in promoting the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the NATO alliance.

This award testifies to the high standards of professionalism and outstanding leadership of Brigadier Fake in the military part of the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO. Brigadier Edin Fako is an officer with extensive experience, which he gained working on numerous operational and staff duties within the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By a recent decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was appointed as a new member of the General Corps of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the rank of Brigadier General, and will soon assume the key position of Inspector General in the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
