Brussels lifts Restrictions on Imports of Industrial Goods from the US

The EU intends to lift all restrictions on imports of industrial goods from the US, the parties said in a joint statement on a framework agreement for reciprocal, fair and balanced trade.

The statement said the EU would lift tariffs on all industrial goods coming from the US and would provide preferential market access for a wide range of US seafood and agricultural products, including nuts, dairy products, fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, processed foods, seeds for planting, soybean oil, and pork and bison meat.

At the same time, the EU’s inaccessible natural resources, including cork, all aircraft and aircraft parts, generic pharmaceuticals and their ingredients, and chemical precursors, will not be subject to the 15 percent US tariff from 1 September.
