The president of the ‘’Mothers of Srebrenica’’ association, Munira Subašić, spoke at the mass, recalling the tragedy that occurred twenty years ago.
‘’Although it has been twenty years since this inhumane atrocity, some mothers are still searching for the remains of their children. It is our life today, our greatest problem, and our mission’’, said Subašić.
Speaking for BBC, she stated that 18 years after the genocide, she found and buried only two bones belonging to her son.
‘’I am addressing all of the good people to fix things while we still can, and to bring the criminals in front of the court and justice and name them as war criminals, just as our children are named as their victims’’, Munira Subašić said.
One of the survivors, Nedžad Avdić, detailed a story for a BBC report as to how he was shot and left laying among dead bodies.
In the organization of the association Remembering Srebrenica, London was visited by the member of the Presidency of B&H, Bakir Izetbegović, who was hosted by the British Prime Minister David Cameron.
