Canada has imposed sanctions on top Hamas officials, including Yahya Sinwar and Mohamed Deif, over the Palestinian group’s October 7 attack on Israel.
Canadian sanctions include 11 individuals, including leaders of the Palestinian “Islamic Jihad”, for the attack and, as stated by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, “the threat posed by Hamas and its affiliates to regional security.”
The announcement adds that the sanctions will take effect immediately.
