Canceled Performance of Serbian Singer Jelena Karleusa in Sarajevo

The performance of Serbian singer Jelena Karleuša at the Aqua club in Sarajevo was canceled after the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, submitted a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was originally announced that Karleuša would perform at the mentioned club on August 8. In the meantime, it was deleted from the poster, and the tickets were withdrawn from sale.

Club Aqua recently announced that Tamara Milutinović will sing on August 8. Karleuša still hasn’t announced anything about the canceled performance in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Konaković said earlier that he sent a letter to the outgoing KS Minister of Internal Affairs Admir Katica (NiP) and Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević requesting a ban on Karleusa’s performance due to inciting national and religious hatred.

“The information is that the Ministry of Interior has contacted the organizers, that the organizer allegedly promised to cancel the concert, and I expect, of course, if the cancellation does not happen soon, that the Ministry of Interior will cancel the concert,” he said, among other things. Karleuša had previously insulted him on Facebook.

“This man is sick with evil and blinded by hatred. I have never said a bad word about the Bosniak people in my life! On the contrary, only the nicest things. My grandmother is Bosnian, many of my friends are Bosnians, a huge fan base from Bosnia. I don’t know why this unfortunate person turned on me, or he wants marketing or fell in love, but certainly, shameful behavior. Enough of the hatred, oh my!!”, she wrote.

We remind you that in 2024, the singer insulted people on social networks who supported the adoption of the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica. After that, a series of her performances in Bosnia and Herzegovina were canceled.
