In this year’s Sarajevo Canton Budget, a record amount was set aside for co-financing scientific research activities, in the amount of 4,250,000 BAM, announced the CS Government.
At the proposal of the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Pavle Krstić, the CS Government, at its last regular session, adopted the Decision on determining the purpose, criteria and method of distribution of funds to support this activity.
“This year, through support programs, we allocated a record amount of funds for scientific research activities, in accordance with the principles of the Government of CS to continuously increase budget funds for science, technological development and innovation. The focus is, among other things, on young researchers, for whose projects we this year we allocated 250,000 BAM of additional funds for this item, which is a kind of message that we want to continue with positive processes, to create an environment for young people who are the future carriers of the development of our Canton. Also, our goals are to strengthen science, synergy between public administration, science and economy, procurement of equipment for scientific research institutions, and the strengthening of their international activities,” Minister Krstić pointed out.
He stated that the Ministry, in accordance with the Law on Scientific Research Activities, prepared this material and obtained the opinion of the Council for Science, which was positive, and pointed out that it will fulfill its task and spend the funds in the manner required by the law.
The public call for co-financing of scientific research/artistic research and research and development projects and programs will be published by the end of this month on the website of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the CS.
The Government invites the scientific and academic community, researchers and innovators, as well as everyone who wants to and believes that with their knowledge, skills and engagement they can significantly contribute to the progress and strengthening of science to apply for a public call.
