MIA CS announced reinforced measures in controlling cars, emphasizing that the prohibition does not apply to police vehicles, inspections, the Ministry of Defense, public transport, cars with diplomatic plates and emergency vehicles (ambulance and the firefighters).
“Moreover, another ban enters into force. Movement for commercial vehicles, with a total weight exceeding 3.5 tones, on the section from Otoka to Bascarsija in both directions is banned, except for a period from 10 am to 3 pm and from 12 am to 6 am. This is not applied to vehicles of public transport, public utilities, emergency vehicles and vans for food products. During the traffic ban, signs will be placed on streets and accessing roads to the affected areas,” as announced from the MIA CS.
To recall, on the 25th session, which was held on the 24th of December 2015, the Government of Canton Sarajevo adopted a Conclusion, which defines the amendments to the Plan of Intervention in cases of excessive air pollution in Canton Sarajevo.
