The reason is, the hospital states, that a large number of services and wards were formed, chiefs had high salaries, workforce was unevenly distributed and the volume of work was brought to a minimum.
“That is why we are working on joining certain wards, abolishing unnecessary chief positions, and on rational distribution of workforce, which will eventually result in better service for our patients,” the statement said.
Moreover, the hospital states that no one of the employed doctors and medical staff will lose their job. They will just be distributed in accordance with their professional orientation and the regulations stipulated by Law.
The hospital stated that the arrival of new management has nothing to do with the choices they make and that the new management can only be “blamed” for responsible and committed work.
“Abolition of private practice is a part of the problem, if we wish to move towards progress and development, and it works primarily in the interest of our patients. Decisions about this issue are not being reached in the hospital but in relevant institutions of authority, and we will certainly support the Decision on the abolition of dual practice, as well as every other decision of our owners which is in the interest of our patients. We will not allow that doctors employed in the CCUS work in private clinics during working hours,” the hospital stated.
They added that the Clinic for Urgent Medicine is the most frequent clinic in the CCUS, with around 300 patients a day. With exhausted doctors and staff and overly used equipment, the quality of the provided health service is brought into question.
“Therefore, having in mind the fact that the General Hospital meets all conditions for performing work of an Urgent Center, patients are redirected to the General Hospital two days in a week. During those two days, doctor at the CUM can have some rest, equipment can be cleaned, and during next five days the maximum quality service can be provided for all patients, because they deserve it. This decision was not reached out of arbitrariness or bad intention, but exclusively and primarily for the benefit of our patients,” the CCUS stated.
