”In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), vaccination against coronavirus is recommended for children over 12 years of age who have weak immunity, with mRNA vaccine, ” said Assistant Federal Minister of Health, Goran Cerkez.
Cerkez pointed out that the Expert Advisory Body for Immunization (SST) considers that the priority is to provide a continuous and accelerated process of vaccination and immunization according to the recommended schedule of doses of unvaccinated persons.
He further explained that when it comes to immunization, the SST recommends that the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine be offered to people who are over 12 years old with serious immunosuppression – primary or acquired immunodeficiency, people on immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapy, as well as people who are receiving high doses of steroids.
Cerkez stated that the opinion of a specialist on the time of application of the third dose should be included, ie the minimum immunosuppression should be considered, with the minimum period for the application being two months after the second dose.
“For people over the age of 18 with severe immunosuppression, the SST for immunization recommends that the mRNA vaccine be preferred for the third dose, with the possibility of administering a vector or inactivated vaccine to those who have previously received these vaccines,” Cerkez noted.
