The Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) Dragan Čović held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, Masami Kinefuchi, on the occasion of the end of his mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed, with special emphasis on the challenges and opportunities for the country’s progress towards membership in the European Union. Čović emphasized the importance of stability, dialogue and joint work of all social and political actors on reforms that lead to a European perspective, and emphasized the role of the international community, including Japan, in providing support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on that path.
Special emphasis during the talks was placed on successful cooperation and projects that Japan has implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Čović particularly praised Japan’s contribution in the areas of infrastructure renewal, education and culture, pointing out that these projects had a significant impact on the quality of life of all the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Kinefuchi expressed his gratitude for the open and constructive cooperation with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that Japan remains committed to strengthening bilateral relations and supporting development projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He particularly emphasized the importance of continuing to invest in education, innovation and economic development, which are the foundations for a stable and prosperous future for the country.
Čović praised Ambassador Kinefuchi for his engagement, dedication and contribution to strengthening relations between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that the projects he Japan has realized in BiH a lasting legacy of successful cooperation between two friendly countries, the Public Relations Department of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly announced.
