Chairman of BiH Presidency In New York: The Spirit Of The UN Charter Is Not Outdated

The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljko Komsic, is participating in New York at a high-level meeting marking 80 years since the founding of the United Nations (UN) and the adoption of the UN Charter, it was announced from his office.

On this occasion, Chairman Komsic met with the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, and the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj.

After the meeting of the delegations, Chairman Komsic said that today, unfortunately, 80 years later, we still witness brutal wars, mass suffering of civilians, displacements, open denial of genocide, and increasingly frequent attacks on fundamental human rights.

He emphasized that all this shows that the spirit of the UN Charter is not outdated, and that we need it today more than ever.

It is necessary, Komsic conveyed, that all of us, without calculations, return to the fundamental values of the Charter: peace, justice, human dignity, and equality of all peoples and individuals.

For September 25th, an address by the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljko Komsic, at the UN General Assembly is scheduled.
