„Cheerful Evening in Sarajevo” is aiming to draw attention to the traditional values of forgotten Sarajevo, on gatherings that have been the main places for gathering of artists and intellectuals, foreigners and our citizens, which significantly influenced on the development of culture and art, establishing a better relationship between the people and introduction to the diversity and specificities of peoples and ethnic groups.
It will be a cheerful evening, just as Samokovlija described, for “all those who are coming to life, and those who are living it, as well as for those who were here before us…We have connected centuries, arranged events in a way that is strange and incomprehensible, painful and joyful.” With songs and music, which was always heard from our streets, the actors bring to life characters who are the heroes of the story of our city, they become people of Sarajevo and playing them from the oblivion brings part of our history and tradition back.
Besides actors Maja Salkic, Sonja Goronja, Mehmed Porca, Sead Pandur and Sanjin Arnautovic, members of the vocal ensemble “Korona” Anida Isanovic and Dunja Kazic are also participating and Kaca Hadzifejzovic is playing accordion.
After performance in June, another three performances will follow on the 7th, 8th and 9th of July, starting at 21 pm at the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts of BiH.
