Citizen of Germany was killed near the Eiffel Tower

In a fight near the Eiffel Tower in the capital of France, Paris, on Saturday night, one person was killed and two were injured, local media reported.

“The suspect killed a German tourist with a knife and wounded two others with a hammer before being arrested by French police,” France 24 reported.

According to the report, the attacker is a 25-year-old French man who was serving a prison sentence for planning the attack.

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his condolences to the family of the German citizen.

“We will not give in to terrorism,” Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced on the X social network.

The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Terrorism has confirmed that it has opened an investigation into the attack.
