Suad Eco, director of Eco Company, said that the aim of this cooperation is transfer of concept designs that Italians have developed, which made them recognizable. In this way, they are trying to show our manufacturers how important is design in the production process.
Eco Company used the visit of the famous designer for negotiations on the concept of cooperation with its registry design house. Thus, in the future we can expect new Italian design from Eco Company which will be conducted and signed by the famous Italian designer.
“Our company is preparing for participation on international exhibitions, so we would like to have a renowned designer who will sign our new collections, and at the same time we will continue to work on the development of our designers,” said Eco.
The wood and furniture industry is one of the sectors in BiH that is rapidly developing and progressing. On what kind of image this industry gives to the region and the world, Mazzer said: “BiH has a long tradition in the production of furniture and that is something that can’t be denied, although when it comes to development, it is far behind. Now, big steps are being made in order to reach other markets both in development and technologies. Globalization is making everybody go a little faster in their development, so BiH is now making giant steps in order to succeed in everything they’ve missed. It is a struggle, but I am convinced that BiH will succeed and find its place in the European, but also on the world scene of furniture manufacturers and designers,” said Mazzer.
Workshop with architects, designers and architects trainees of the Eco Company was held as part of the visit, during which intern architects presented their works, which was followed by a brief discussion with the Italian architect, which was attended by Massimo Sessa, director of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade.
The event “Days of Italian design in B&H” is intended for BiH architects and students of architecture, and it is held at the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo. This event is designed as a meeting of students, trainees of architecture and architects in order to exchange their ideas and experiences from BiH and Italy when it comes to design in architecture and interiors.
