The international conference “Peace as the Foundation, Integration as the Future of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Western Balkans” will be held on November 14th and 15th in Sarajevo, organized by the Pan-European Union (EU) of BiH and the Human Brotherhood Foundation.
The conference is being organized to mark the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement and 30 years of tireless work by the Pan-EU of BiH, which over three decades has been and remains a key factor in promoting European values and the process of European integration in BiH, it was stated by the Pan-EU of BiH.
As noted, the conference will be attended by more than 120 international guests from 15 countries around the world, including representatives of the institutions of BiH, the EU, international organizations, the academic community, and civil society.
Among the confirmed participants are OSCE Ambassador to BiH Richard Holtzapple, the ambassadors of Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Slovakia, as well as Members of the European Parliament Davor Ivo Stier and Karlo Ressler, along with representatives of the Delegation of the EU to BiH and all key signatories and actors of the Dayton Peace Agreement, together with many other domestic and international officials and distinguished guests.
Within the conference, panels will be held dedicated to the following topics: 30 Years of Dayton – The Legacy of Peace and the Path Toward European and Euro-Atlantic Integration; Regional Cooperation and European Integration of the Western Balkans; The Progress of BiH on the European Path – Obstacles, Advantages, and Necessary Reforms; and The Perspectives of BiH and the Western Balkans in the European Community of the Future.
Special emphasis will be placed on reviewing the current reforms in BiH, with the aim of an objective analysis of the real state of the European integration process, as well as identifying key challenges standing in the way of faster progress of BiH toward the EU.
The conclusions of the conference will be consolidated in a joint Declaration on Peace and the European Future of BiH, which will be submitted to the institutions of BiH, the EU, and the international community, it was announced.
