Supporters of Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) continued to gather in front of the building of the Republika Srpska National Assembly (NSRS) in Banja Luka.
Serb member and chairwoman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated at the rally that the proceedings against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik are unacceptable from the perspective of the Constitution and law, which is clear to everyone in RS, and that the goal of the verdict is to leave RS without political leadership.
“What we are seeing today is not something that should disarm or discourage us. Those in Sarajevo have decided to distance Republika Srpska from themselves, and that is their will and choice. We will respect some of their choices, but not all of them,” Cvijanović said at a rally in Banja Luka.
Cvijanović called the allegations that they had calculated everything well – a six-year ban on political activity for President Dodik – which means two until the end of his term and four to prevent him from running in the next elections – a farce.
“They really think that we are fools here and that we don’t see what they are defending. They defend everything except the Constitution and constitutional principles. They defend everything that has nothing to do with morality. These people here are honorable and moral and we want to respect the Constitution and we love our freedom and we have not denied it to anyone else. You will not harass us and chase us like rabbits here just because you don’t like us promoting the Constitution and defending the rights of every person, not just Serbs, but also Serbs and Croats, Bosniaks, Italians, Ukrainians and everyone who lives here,” said Cvijanović.
Dodik announces series of laws to be passed by the RS National Assembly
Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RSNA) will pass a series of laws that reject the jurisdiction of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the territory of Republika Srpska.
“Today, you no longer have the BiH you imagined. We are still offering you a constitutional BiH. When we return to the RS National Assembly, we will make important decisions. We will adopt several laws during the day and night,” Dodik said.
As he stated, among the laws that will be adopted are the law on the ban on the work of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office on the territory of RS, the law on the ban on the implementation of decisions of the Court of BiH, as well as the law on the formation of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Republika Srpska.
“The fourth law refers to the ban on the activities of SIPA in Republika Srpska, and then the law on the ban on the activities of the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH (OBA) on the territory of Republika Srpska,” Dodik said.
He stressed that a new law on the Court and Prosecutor’s Office will also be passed, by which judges and prosecutors will be elected by the RS National Assembly.
Dodik reiterated that Serbs will not stop working in the joint institutions of BiH, but that Republika Srpska will take all measures to protect its jurisdiction, BHRT writes.
