“What is very important, he confirmed that the deadline for the publication of the census results on the 1st of July will be respected,” said Minister Osmanovic after the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, at which was discussed the information on the current status of activities in the processing of the results of the census of population, households and apartments in BiH from 2013.
According to Osmanovic, is was not needed to call on a special or extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, nor should the Council of Ministers of BiH discuss this issue at the first place.
He believes that this is an attempt to “put a certain pressure on the Agency for Statistics and the Director of the Agency”.
“What is the quality of all of this is the fact that the Agency for Statistics of BiH, without any political pressure, issued what is in its legally prescribed procedure, and it is a unique program of methodology for processing the census of population in BiH,” stated Minister Osmanovic.
“If we decided to put ourselves in prolongation and further discussion, we would not be able to publish the results of the census on the 1st of July,” said Osmanovic.
According to him, what everyone stated is that “the Council of Ministers of BiH does not have the legal possibility to order the Director to withdraw a unique program of methodology for data processing”.
Osmanovic said that the Council of Ministers of BiH concluded to forward the information provided by the Agency for Statistics of BiH that was submitted to the Council of Ministers, to the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
On the question whether at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of BiH was requested fro, Velimir Jukic to withdraw this decision, Osmanovic said that there were suggestions, but he emphasized that it cannot be done in accordance with the law.
